Chopsticks have been a main utensil of choice when it comes to eating meals in Eastern Asia, as well as in my childhood. There are many beautiful designs, finishes, and styles that attach memories to chopsticks and bring joy to every meal. Inspired by chopstick shops I’ve visited to in China when I was growing up, The Chopstick Shop is meant to be a site that showcases these utensils as more than just everyday utensils, but rather an art and a craft.

The goal was to showcase a variety of chopstick designs and styles made of different materials and the work of different artists craftsmen from around the world, showing how they are going beyond the traditional means of making chopsticks. This would then allow people to have appreciation for these traditional utensils and the process of making them.
The design for the website is meant to be minimal and sleek, letting the materiality, colors, and designs of the chopsticks to be highlighted and the aesthetic acting as a kind of backdrop.
